Written By Jeff Goode (USA), Directed By Holly Shanahan, THE SLEIGH RIDE IS OVER. Tear down the tinsel. Dismantle the mistletoe and un-wrap the presents Christmas is CANCELED!
This is the "E! True Hollywood Story" of the biggest scandal to hit the North Pole since . . . EVER! Reindeer's elite Dasher, Cupid, Prancer, Blitzen, Comet, Dancer, Donner and Vixen aka, ŒThe Eight', are here to tell you the full sordid story.
Their stories introduce us to a very different Santa Claus than the one we have come to know and love. We are drawn into their world as the "elite" of reindeer kind, the pressures of the yearly flight - issues of fog, religion, ballet, Mrs. Claus and of course the REAL scoop on the "Rudolph debacle"Š
Now is Vixen the victim or the wench who stole Christmas?? A dark festive comedy absolutely not to be missed.
The Untold Tales of Maui ***season sold out***
Season: Tuesday 30th November - Saturday 11th December (no show Sun/Mon)
Time: 9pm
Tickets: $20 full/$14 concession and groups 10+
Taki Rua Productions and Humourbeasts (Jemaine Clement and Taika Cohen) would like to invite you to experience theatre at its very best. With the aid of state of the art multi-media devices, massive back-projections, puppetry and computer animated characters, The Untold Tales of Maui are brought back to life through the tales of Nanny, the wizened kuia who spins fantastical stories for Kapa, our troubled youth in need of some guidance from the past...
Nanny's stories take us to a time when the sun raced across the sky like a hoiho hoha (or impatient horse), when people could take their jawbones out at will or change into different animals, when grandmothers could set things on fire with their fingernails, when you could catch fish the size of a small South Pacific nation. At first, young Kapa has no interest in these crusty myths, but as Nanny's incredible stories gather strength, the young fool is soon drawn into the mysterious and fantastical world of Maui and his famous exploits.
