A Music Cd For Children – Created By Parents And Teachers
“Wildspace Rocks”
At long last, an original New Zealand album for children full of genuine humour and real talent. Subjects covered include the seaside, friendship, fairytales, germs, cars, and pets. Genres explored include bluegrass, rock, ballad, gypsy and blues.
A brand new CD of children’s music will be released at the Childspace annual Christmas party, botanical gardens soundshell on Tuesday 7th December from 5-7pm. There will be a live performance, dancing chickens and a b-b-q dinner. Not your average early childhood Christmas party!
The Wildspace band is a delicious blend of teachers, family and friends of Childspace Early Learning Centres in Wellington.
“We started out by advertising in our parent newsletter some years ago that we wanted to put together a band to perform at Childspace social occasions. Various talents and instruments have come and gone over the years and each has left a little mark on the evolution of our band, Wildspace;” says Toni Christie, one of the vocalists on the album and Principal of Childspace Early Learning Centres.
“The name of the band is derived from a slip of the tongue once made by a librarian on a centre outing. She welcomed us by making a special mention of the children from “Wildspace” and we thought that was a fabulous name for our band.”
Wildspace Rocks features seven original songs and a story and was recorded at Braeburn Recording studios in Ngaio, Wellington. Copies can be purchased for $25 each from the Childspace Early Childhood Institute – (04) 4797320 or by visiting the website www.childspace.co.nz.
