Prime To Be Sky's Partner For Cricket Season

Prime To Be Sky Television’s Free-To-Air Partner For 2004/2005 New Zealand Cricket Season
Prime Television confirmed today that it will be SKY’s official free-to-air broadcast partner for the New Zealand Summer of Cricket 2004/2005.
The Black Caps will be hosting Sri Lanka and Australia in a combination of One Day Internationals and Test matches from Boxing Day 2004 until the end of March 2005.
Prime will simulcast live, all three test matches of the Australian tour and three of the five One Day International matches.
Packaged highlights of the first two Australia v New Zealand One Day International matches will also be telecast on Prime.
Prime will also telecast packaged highlights of the Sri Lankan tour including two Test matches and five One Day Internationals.
Prime Television’s Chief Executive, Chris Taylor said “We are thrilled to be able to partner SKY as the official free-to-air broadcaster of yet another mainstream sport. The acquisition of International Cricket is a significant addition to our fast growing stable of sports programming.
SKY Television Chief Executive, John Fellet said, “A free-to-air broadcast partner is an important element in our involvement in televised sport in New Zealand. This new agreement is another key step in the continued development of our relationship with Prime”
The National Bank will be extending their support of New Zealand Cricket as the official free to air broadcast sponsorship partner.
Prime Television will also be showcasing the following:
- NZ v Australia One off match played under 20-20 rules;
- Highlights of the State Cup – 7 x Round Robin matches including the Semi Final;
- Live and Simulcast State Cup -The final of the One Day competition; and
- Live and Simulcast State of Origin One Day match–North v South.
