Floral “cake” slices.
XOX Floral Sculpture is proud to announce the arrival of its new range of floral “cake” slices which will be on display at the Ellerslie Flower Show for the first time. These are a gorgeous combination of chrysanthemum flowers and flax sculpted to look just like a real piece of cake, but without the calories!
Original and contemporary gift ideas are always in short supply and now XOX has come up with something truly special. As the flowers are all fresh, it’s a living gift that will last at least a week whether the occasion is happy birthday, thank you or well-done for your friends, staff or clients.
As a cutting edge floral sculpture business, XOX founder Kristen Lee didn’t want to offer her customers anything ordinary, because she says “people want to see new ideas, that challenge their perception of what floral design is all about.”
Because the Ellerslie Flower Show has teamed up with fashion designers to create new interest in the floral design marquee this year, XOX believes it’s a perfect opportunity to show that good design isn’t just the stuff of landscape architects or the fashion industry for that matter. For businesses like XOX, which specialise in floral sculpture, every creation is a work of art and as Kristen Lee says “should be viewed in the same way as a painting or art installation not simply dismissed as floristry. NZ produces some incredibly good floral design that deserves to be recognised as such.” … 2

Who is XOX Floral Sculpture?
Answer: XOX was created by Kristen Lee, an artist who works with flowers. “I prefer not to call myself a florist, because I want people to view my work with an open mind, the same as they might a painting or sculpture. When people think of florists they tend to think of English gardens and terracotta pots.” In fact much of the XOX work has a design element, and is more sculptural than traditional floristry.
She says “XOX is for people who want something other than the traditional bouquet or vase arrangement.” The best place to see what XOX has to offer is on the internet at www.xoxflowers.co.nz
