The busy events season starts in Upper Hutt this Saturday 30 October with top NZ band "Goldenhorse " expected to attract nearly 20,000 people to the Fireworks Fantastic at Trentham Memorial Park. Gates opne from 6pm with a full entertainment show from 7pm and an amazing Fireworks Dispaly from around 9.30 pm.Murray Lord from Upper Hutt Rotary Club ,the organisers, says his club has been involved in Fireworks safety education and staging a family display provides a safe environment for the show.Also entry is only $2.00 per person with proceeds to Rotary projects such as polio eradication.
Earlier in the afternoon from 2.45 pm The Dunlop Targa Car Rally visits Upper Hutt for a closed road stage from Mangaroa Hill Road to Wallaceville Hill Road .Drivers include Jim Richards , local Jo MCandrew and celebrity Grant Dalton . All cars will be on dispaly for the public outside South Pacific Tyres in Blenheim Road from 3pm during a pit stop.
