ROOTS FOUNDATION BUMP, THUMP & GRIND Celebrating 12 years of bump, thump and grind the Roots Foundation Sound System is putting on the gloves at the Safari Lounge in November.
The original upsetters DJ’s Mu, Goosebump, Koa and Lemon with the incredible toasting MC I-mon Star are jumping in the ring to show Auckland why they are the heavyweight sound system champions of Aotearoa
To vanquish all pretenders, MU will nail the MPC, deftly dropping delays, reverbs and tasty bass bites over the eclectic vinyl selections of Koa, Lemon and Goosebump and the fiery apocalyptic rhyming of I-mon Star.
The bass fiends who last got dread on the decks in Auckland in 2001 laid the foundation for Wellington’s signature roots and dub movement that has given rise to bands such as Fat Freddy’s Drop, TrinityRoots and Rhombus.
As Goosebump says, “there must something special in the air. Roots Foundation - always shining.”
