Music Managers’ Forum Announce Awards’ Finalists
The Music Managers’ Forum (NZ) is pleased to announce the finalists in the inaugural MMF Management Awards. The Awards will be held at Auckland’s Kings Arms Tavern on Saturday 16th October and cap off the organisation’s national seminar series & AGM: the MMF October Sessions.
The finalists in this year’s awards have been whittled down from a list of over 70 eligible managers. A cross-section of the music industry as represented by the NZ Music Month Committee (NZ On Air, NZMIC, APRA, Play It Strange, RBA, RIANZ, IMNZ) were asked to vote on those eligible and the 5 finalists in each category are shown below.
As well as the awards for Best Manager and Best Self-Managed Artist, the MMF executive council is awarding two special awards for Industry Champion and Outstanding Achievement in Music Management.
MMF chairman Mark Roach says, “The MMF is a valuable organisation for the growth of New Zealand music, both at home and overseas. We felt it was important to recognise not just good managers, but those who have made it possible for managers to succeed.”
In between the presentation of the awards, 4 artists represented by MMF members will be showcasing on the night: Dead Pan Rangers, Mozelee, The Blair Giles Band, Exit, James Ray, The Downlow and Cell. All winners receive a framed award, whilst Outstanding Achievement also carries with it an honorary lifetime membership to the MMF.
