BUSINESS CLASS goes wild this Sunday – TV3 at 12.30pm
Business Class, the weekly TV programme that goes behind the scenes in the tourism industry, goes wild this Sunday with
a look at the popular Hokitika Wildfoods Festival and a taste of the natural flavours on offer at Kinaki Wild Herbs in
Rotorua.
The Hokitika festival, launched by a group of enthusiastic West Coasters, quickly caught the imagination of visitors and
very nearly self-destructed due to its own success. The programme’s Showcase segment delves into the issues and the
steps that the organisers took to ensure the annual show continues to be a success – both for the Hokitika community and
visitors alike.
The intriguing flavours of Maori herbs and how Chef Charles Royal harvests the plants, packages and sells them to eager
restaurants is the focus of the Korero segment of Business Class this Sunday. He also shares tips on how the various
herbs can be used.
Environmental sustainability is discussed in the Focus segment where a number of industry leaders are interviewed,
including Wally Stone, Chairman of Whale Watch Kaikoura and current Chairman of Tourism New Zealand; Peri Drysdale, CEO
of Untouched World; and Norman Thompson, Group General Manager, Marketing, Network and Sales at Air New Zealand.
