In September, Natalie Cole comes to New Zealand for four concerts – two in Auckland with sophisticated orchestral arrangements and the backing force of the Auckland Philharmonia, and two stylish, more intimate concerts in Wellington with her band – two different settings designed to showcase her highly personal and distinctive vocal style.
Natalie Cole has been making an impact on the music world since 1975 and has developed a career rich in achievement and accomplishment. She has enjoyed an ongoing love affair with record buyers worldwide, resulting in a string of best-selling albums, initially with the Elektra label, more recently with Verve.
In the early 1990s Natalie Cole's career reached new heights – the revered and critically acclaimed Unforgettable With Love sold an amazing 14 million copies and earned seven Grammy Awards. In addition to its sales success, the album catapulted the renowned performer to a new level of recognition and acceptance – appearing in concert with a full orchestra, she expanded her audience to include jazz and traditional pop aficionados.
Natalie Cole has also starred in many key acting roles which have earned her rave reviews – it is music, however, that remains at the very heart of a career that spans close to three decades.
