Open Day At H2o Xtream
On Sunday 12 September H2O Xtream is opening its doors so the public can see what goes on behind the scenes.
This is an opportunity to see things such as how the waves are made, why and how the pool water is tested, and rescue
techniques. There will be regular tours of the pool plant room – this is where you to get to see how the water is
cleaned, heated and pumped – all those things that you don’t see above the surface!
There will also be free “have a go” classes including; hydrorobics, aqua yoga, flippaball, snorkelling and kayaking.
Swim Instructors will be available to offer help with swimming techniques for adults and confidence tips for toddlers
and older children.
H2O Xtream’s Manager Alison Law says “this is a fantastic opportunity for people to get an understanding of how H2O
Xtream works and to experience first hand the wonderful programmes that we provide to the community”.
The Edge Road Runners will be there from 11am – 1pm with plenty of giveaways for everyone.
From 2pm the pool will be filled with toys, including H2O Xtream’s new toy for the September School Holidays. The
Stepping Stones have been designed especially for H2O Xtream and are the only ones of their kind in New Zealand. This is
the first time they will be used and they will be available every day during the School Holidays.
Everyone will only pay the usual entry price for the Open Day and day passes are available to enable you to come to
different activities during the day. A schedule of events is available from reception at H2O Xtream.
