Kata (Karate) World Champion trains in Upper Hutt.
Four times World Kata (Karate) champion Ms Yuki Mimura from Japan is visiting Upper Hutt over the next week for demonstrations and training workshops.
Upper Hutt is becoming a “home of excellence” for Karate having produced two Sportspersons of the Year” recently through Tyrone Edwards and Todd Hammington. The sport is really booming in participation and results:
Tyrone Edwards is competing in the International event this Saturday 21 August. Ms Mimura will meet Mayor Wayne Guppy on Thursday 19 August.
Stella Lenihan, Senior Instructor for KSK says “The public are welcome to watch Ms Mimura’s training sessions on Friday 21, Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 August 1-4pm at KSK clubrooms at 585A Fergusson Drive, Upper Hutt.”
