Mark Your Diary - Mission Concert 2005 Date Confirmed!
Saturday, 12 February 2005 has been confirmed as the date for the much anticipated, annual Mission Estate Winery Concert. Fans can start planning accommodation and travel for next year’s concert immediately.
Sports and Entertainment Limited (SEL) Director of Operations Garry Craft said “The wait is over. We’ve announced the date as early as possible to give out-of-town Mission Concert fans the opportunity to book accommodation and travel well in advance”.
“Hawke’s Bay is always overwhelmed with demand for accommodation and we are pleased to be able to confirm the date to help both concert fans and the local tourism industry,” Mr Craft said.
Mission Estate Chief Executive Peter Holley said preparations at the concert venue are well underway. “We are immensely proud to be able to open and share with the public a very special place with a setting that makes the concert a truly unique experience as one of New Zealand’s premier music events,” Mr Holley said.
International artists who have appeared at the prestigious Mission Winery include Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Dionne Warwick, Ray Charles, Kenny Rodgers, Shirley Bassey, Julio Iglesias, The Beach Boys, The Doobie Brothers, The Hollies and Lulu, Engelbert Humperdinck, Sir Cliff Richard and John Farnham.
Hawke’s Bay Tourism's communications executive, Claire Benson, says February is a very busy month in the tourism calendar and this event attracts a substantial number of visitors to the region each year. By releasing the date early, people will hopefully start making plans now rather than struggling later on. “We urge people to book accommodation as early as possible and the best way to do this is by visiting www.hawkebaynz.com, "she said.
