LOW BUDGET BRILLIANCE Anyone with any interest in low budget feature filmmaking needs to get along to see two great features at this years Telecom Auckland International Film Festival. The following two films are triumphant examples of features working their low budgets to their advantage and in the end, making riveting entertainment.
OPEN WATER is the true story about the two divers who.... well you've probably already heard about it. Tickets are flying out the door. It screens in a couple of days! Thurs. July 15, 8:15pm SKY CITY THEATRE and then on Tue July 20, 4:00pm SKY CITY THEATRE. Highly recommended
PRIMER is a low-fi thriller that is extremely smart filmmaking. Shot on a shoe string the film hooks you in with a brilliant premise and then starts playing tricks on your mind. It screens Wed July 21, 6:15pm VILLAGE HOYTS CINEMAS and again on Thurs July 22, 4:00pm VILLAGE HOYTS CINEMAS
