New Zealand Movie Premiere
Spider-Man 2
SUNDAY, 27 July, SKYCITY Theatre
SKYCITY Theatre will host the exclusive New Zealand premiere of Spider-Man 2 on Sunday, June 27
The star-studded guest list includes celebrities, Paul Holmes, Kate Hawkesby, Hilary Barry, Ingrid Leary, Katrina Hobbs, Robert Rakete, Carolyn Robinson, Nathan Rarere, Erica Takacs, Claire Chitham, Karl Burnett, Susan Wood and Mike King.
The audience at this select event will be among the first to see the action packed sequel to Spider-Man, which premiered this week in the United States and Australia, and doesn’t open anywhere in the world until June 30th.
The VIP event guests will attend a pre-movie cocktail party at SKYCITY’s Bar3 from 6:30pm with the movie commencing at 7.35 pm in the SKYCITY Theatre.
Spider-Man 2 features Tobey Maguire returning as the mild-mannered Peter Parker. Peter faces new challenges in Spider-Man 2 as he struggles with the “gift and the curse” desperately trying to balance his dual identities as the web slinging super hero and his life as a college student – while his relationships with those closest to him are falling apart. His lifelong yearnings for MJ become stronger as he fights his impulse to reveal his secret life and declare his love. The entertaining adventure escalates and Spider-Man’s life becomes even more complicated when he confronts a new nemesis, the brilliant Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina), who has been reincarnated as the maniacal and the multi-tentacled menace, “Doc Ock”.
Also starring Kirsten Dunst, and James Franco, Spider-Man 2 is directed by Sam Raimi and is rated PG containing medium level violence.
Spider-Man 2 releases nationally in theatres on midnight July 1st.
Village SKYCITY Cinemas is a joint venture between SKYCITY Leisure and Village Roadshow, operating 55 cinemas around New Zealand.
SKYCITY Leisure is a New Zealand cinema exhibition company, majority-owned, and managed by SKYCITY Entertainment Group. Through a recent takeover offer, SKYCITY Entertainment Group will become the full owner of SKYCITY Leisure in July.
