Hayley Wins Favorite Female Up and Coming Award

Metin's original painting MARDI GRAS has graced the front and back cover of the ASYM 12th Annual Spring Benefit Concert & Awards Gala 8.5" X 11" program book.
Hollywood's Healing Painter Metin has donated the image of his painting as a donation for ASYM's worthy cause.
One and only MELISSA RIVERS, the full-time host of E! Entertainment Television's event programming, was the smashing co-host of the night.
The lovely HAYLEY WESTENRA, the winner of 2004 Favorite Female Up and Coming Award, also attended Metin's exhibition.
West Hollywood, CA - Metin Bereketli, the Los Angeles-based international artist known for his striking DIVERSITY-series of original paintings, has donated his original hand-painted oil painting MARDI GRAS for the cover of American Society of Young Musicians 12th Annual House of Blues Spring Benefit Concert & Awards banquet program.
"America is blessed with so many talented young musicians," Metin said. "It is my joy and privilege to help ASYM recognize such gifted stars on an annual basis."
An internationally acclaimed Los Angeles based painter, Metin's contemporary works have been featured in galleries and exhibitions worldwide including the Smithsonian, Sotheby's Science Center, Paramount Pictures & Universal Studios and Hollywood & Highland. His style and generosity has earned him the esteem of many American leaders, such as Presidents Bush and Carter.
Metin’s unique paintings can also be seen on many television programs including Friends, Frazier, ER, Becker, Felicity, Will & Grace, Chicago Hope, The Bold and The Beautiful, Passions, General Hospital, Party of Five, and several other TV and film sets.
West Hollywood… On Thursday, June 3, 2004, at 6PM, at the world renowned, House of Blues on the Sunset Strip. The American Society of Young Musicians 12th Annual House of Blues Spring Benefit Concert & Awards, hosted by E! Entertainment's Melissa Rivers and 'Charmed" co-star and Host of Soul Train Dorian Gregory, gave kudos to multi-talented Grammy Award-Winning songwriter, producer, and composer dynamic duo, Jimmy 'Jam" Harris and Terry Lewis, co-heads of the industry renown, Flyte Tyme Records & Studios.
While at the helm of Flyte Tyme Records, based in Los Angeles and Minnesota, Harris and Lewis have been responsible for the development of such young talent as multi-platinum selling artists Janet Jackson, TLC, and sultry Pop diva Mariah Carey and has had a hand in the popularity of other such artists as Rod Stewart, Patti LaBelle, Mary J. Blige, Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, and Michael Jackson, Sting, Luther Vandross and Herb Alpert, to name a few.
Also receiving honors for their contribution to the American and International musical landscape were the creatively witty Grammy Award Nominee Fountains of Wayne (Most Awesome Band Award), International singing sensation Hayley Westenra (Favorite Female Up-and-Coming Artist Award), standards jazz musician and vocalist Steve Tyrell (All That Jazz Award), furious metal band rockers Spineshank (Most Awesome Metal Band Award), So So Def Recording Star Anthony Hamilton (Favorite Male Up-and-Coming Artist), Billboard Magazine named 2003 'Gospel Artist of the Year" Smokie Norful (Favorite Gospel Artist Award) and the inimitable compassionate and confessional musical artist Mary J. Blige will be feted with the Organization's Pacesetter Award, bestowed upon an artist whose impact on other young artists has been unmistakable.
The evening will also include live musical performances by Disney's 'That So Raven" co-star Orlando Brown, and New Zealand's singing sensation Hayley Westernra, and a host of artists and musicians joining ASYM's members and fans.
The American Society of Young Musicians (ASYM) is a national non-profit organization comprised of over 2000 musicians, music students and studio technicians between the ages of 17 and well into their 30's, who share a common commitment to the development and mentorship of young talent in the music business. ASYM provides lecture series, artists' workshops and forums, and a mentorship program that includes financial assistance, a shared housing and referral program, and a support network of fellow artists encompassing an Alcohol and Drug Treatment referral component.
In its 12th year at the House of Blues, the society's concert has become an annually anticipated event on the Sunset Strip, bringing together musical artists and musicians for a one night love fest. In the past impromptu jam pairings have brought the house down-- Little Richard, Keith Richards, Rachel Hunter, Ronald Isley, Linda Hopkins and Al Jarreau, among others, have perform unforgettable renditions of some of Rocks classic numbers. Past award recipients include John Mellencamp, Quincy Jones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Herbie Hancock, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy & Meredith Brooks among others.
With Proceeds benefiting the American Society of Young Musicians and showcasing some of music's hot, young talent, the night promises to live up to its past expectations and then some.
