2003 Montana New Zealand Book Awards Deutz Medal for Fiction, reading at the Leys Institute Community Library, Thursday

Sharp-edged, sensitive and witty, Johnson is a versatile writer, moving from poetry to prose, to plays for radio and the
stage. Following on the success of The Shag Incident, Johnson’s new book Music From a Distant Room promises another
brilliant read.
