Yachting New Zealand Congratulates Team New Zealand
Yachting New Zealand’s High Performance manager, Peter Lester congratulates Team New Zealand on their efforts in gaining the support required to compete for the Louis Vuitton Cup in 2007 in Valencia. Lester commends Grant Dalton and Team New Zealand Management on attracting the support of the Dubai-based airline, Emarites as well as Toyota NZ and Toyota International which will enable them to mount a strong challenge.
He believes it to be fantastic for the sport of yachting in New Zealand and a tremendous achievement for our nation.
The role that the New Zealand Government will play in supporting Team New Zealand to attend the high profile Regatta to be sailed in Valencia, Spain is a move that Lester applauds.
“This is great for our sport! It provides all our young sailors, our yacht clubs, and their members with motivation and inspiration. To have Team New Zealand continuing to compete on the international stage of Americas Cup class racing gives the young kids something to aspire to”New Zealand congratulates Team New Zealand on gaining the support required, and wishes the team well in their preparations.
