Shapeshifter Making Headlines Internationally
On the eve of releasing their second album RIDDIM WISE LP in Australia, Shapeshifter are creating quite a media stir throughout the continent, with appearances on nationwide television stations such as channel V and channel 7.
The group have also graced the covers of popular music magazines such as 3Dworld, Inpress, Beat and Bragg. Shapeshifter's two video singles have been picked up by all major music video channels and programmes, and the band have been receiving rotation on the Triple J radio network, as well as other local stations in all major cities. An Australian nationwide album release tour starts early July, with the band playing throughout Australia in major venues. Riddim Wise LP has sold very well in New Zealand after receiving very positive reviews and huge airplay on all bNet radio stations. “When I Return” feat LadiSix falling into the New Zealand alternative charts at Number 1 in the second half of March and again during New Zealand Music Month in May. In this same month , Riddim Wise LP topped the charts at Number 1 on the IMNZ Independent album Charts for May 2004.
Shapeshifter’s second music video “When I Return” feat. LadiSix has been completed by Shuriken (Richard Bell and Stephen McCarthy in Christchurch). It will be screened in New Zealand on C4 (Debut on Soundlab Wed 10.30pm) and Juice TV this week.
Meanwhile, Shapeshifter MC P Digsss has been travelling throughout Europe, touring and recording with an amazing talent of musicians including London Electricity, The Logistics and Hip Hop group The Nex Men. He has also been MC’ing Hospitality nights in London, creating quite an excitement about Shapeshifter and laying the foundations for the group's long anticipated European tour.
After a very successful 7 date SOLD OUT tour of large venues throughout New Zealand in March this year, Shapeshifter have announced they will be touring New Zealand again in September. The group will be raising the bar for live performance once again with their unique and progressive blend of live instruments and electronic influence.
