Village Skycity Cinemas And Village Rialto Cinemas Bring Snowboarding Action To The Big Screen For One Night Only
Quiksilver, the world's leading board riding company, Village SKYCITY Cinemas and Village Rialto Cinemas, announce an exciting one-off film experience to bring the best snowboarding action to the big screen - just before the winter ski season kicks off.
Coinciding with the Quiksilver Snow Film Festival in Auckland, Hamilton, Christchurch and Dunedin, a one night only special cinema screening on Wednesday 09 June will provide 90 minutes of some of the world's best snowboarding action (including some of the greatest moments from the Totally Board series). The film documents the evolution of freestyle snowboarding, including some of the world's most influential snowboarders of all time. Also featured is footage from the recent Quiksilver Slopestyle Pro in France and additional athlete profiles of world-renowned snowboarders.
Quiksilver's Marketing Manager Garry Wall said Quiksilver is excited to partner up with Village SKYCITY Cinemas for this special occasion.
"To bring our lifestyle to the big screen with the snow film festival is a unique opportunity. The impact that the big screen delivers with the surround sound is awesome," said Mr Wall.
"With snow already on the ground and the opening of the snow season fast approaching, this will be a great way to give everyone a pre season snow fix and get them motivated for the upcoming season. For me there is nothing like seeing your favorite sport on the big screen."
Village SKYCITY Cinemas CEO Joseph Moodabe is also excited by the partnership.
"Village SKYCITY and Village Rialto Cinemas are both leading entertainment companies with fantastic facilities that until now have been somewhat limited in their cinematic offerings. Through the introduction of digital technology we are now in a position to offer our customers a broader range of experiences in our cinemas,” he says.
"There is an abundance of content in the market that should be experienced out of the home and in a social manner on the big screen. Snowboarding and surfing are two of the more obvious examples and for this reason Village SKYCITY Cinemas and Village Rialto Cinemas are very pleased to be working with an industry leader such as Quiksilver, on this event".
The One night only screening for is on Wednesday 9 June at 7pm at:
Village SKYCITY Cinemas – Queen Street , Westcity and Hamilton
Village Rialto Cinemas – Christchurch and Dunedin
Tickets are on sale now via participating cinema box offices or online at www.villageskycity.co.nz or www.rialto.co.nz
Approximate running time: 1 hour, 25 min. Tickets cost $15 each.
