Head Of Public Affairs Appointed
TVNZ Chief Executive Officer, Ian Fraser, is pleased to announce the appointment of Avon Adams as Head of Public Affairs.
"I am delighted that Avon is joining TVNZ to assist us in communicating our vision and helping us connect with all New Zealanders as their television public broadcaster. The finely honed stakeholder relationship skills and wealth of experience that Avon has developed over the course of her career will stand her in good stead as she embraces TVNZ's Public Affairs responsibilities."
Avon Adams has an MA in Political Studies and Media. She has held a number of communications and corporate affairs positions with some of New Zealand's high profile companies including Vodafone, United Networks and Air New Zealand. In addition, she has consulted for many government and private sector organisations along with lecturing in Journalism and Public Relations. During the eighties and nineties, Avon Adams worked for a number of television networks around the world as a journalist, presenter and director.
"Avon's combination of a strong television background combined with extensive experience in public affairs makes her the ideal person to help us as we assume the role of New Zealand's television public broadcaster. I would like to publicly congratulate her and welcome her to the team," said Ian Fraser.
Avon Adams commences with TVNZ in late July 2004.
