Camillia Comes Home For SkyCity Celebration
Fans of NZ Idol check this out - local Hamilton girl and Idol finalist Camillia Temple will make her first public appearance since her top three placement in the national TV phenomenon, performing at SKYCITY Hamilton next Friday 29 May.
Camillia will sing from 8.30pm in the entertainment and gaming complex’s Number Eight bar, which has been recently extended to increase its customer service area.
SKYCITY Hamilton General Manager Operations Phil Keber said that SKYCITY is delighted to be offering customers the chance to see popular ‘Soul Diva’ Camillia sing live within the newly upgraded entertainment area.
“We identified that we could improve the service and experience we offer our customers by extending the Number Eight Bar. After several weeks of construction, we plan to celebrate its reopening with a ‘Number Eight Bar Bash’ promotion, kicking off in style next Friday with a guest performance by this local star, home in Hamilton, fresh from the New Zealand Idol stage. It is also timely that we are showcasing a New Zealand artist in May, given that it is New Zealand Music Month.
“In addition to Camillia, popular Auckland band ‘Club Nerd’ will also perform on Friday night from 9.30pm. Dressed as ‘nerds’ this hilarious and talented band was an absolute hit when we featured them at SKYCITY Hamilton during Field Days earlier this year. Our “Number Eight Bar Bash’ promotion won’t stop here though as we have lots of other exciting entertainment booked right through the end of June,” said Mr Keber.
Camillia says she is excited that her first performance since New Zealand Idol is to be in her home town.
“I am very happy that I will be back in Hamilton to perform. It will be great to be in front of a local crowd and while I want to keep what I will sing a surprise, people can look forward to hearing a number or two from NZ Idol,” she said.
On Saturday 30 May, well-known Auckland band and popular performers at Number Eight Bar, ‘The Pulse’ will entertain guests from 9.30pm.
Along with a month of special entertainment, SKYCITY Hamilton will also celebrate its new Number Eight Bar extension in good old Waikato style with Waikato Draft priced at $4.00 per handle until the end of June.
As is the case for all live entertainment at SKYCITY’s Number Eight bar, there is no cover charge for all entertainment during the Number Eight Bar Bash.
