New Zealand Post Delivers Mozart's Opera To New Zealand
New Zealand Post is helping deliver the magic of the opera around the country through its sponsorship of The NBR New Zealand Opera, announced today.
Handle with Care! New Zealand Post Postie, Fay Kingham, "delivers" Dorabella (Joanne Cole) to rehearsals for the New Zealand Post Opera for All Cosi Fan Tutte tour.
The New Zealand Post Opera For All tour of Cosi Fan Tutte will visit fourteen New Zealand centres in June, July and August.
John Allen, Chief Executive of New Zealand Post said the tour is a wonderful opportunity for people throughout New Zealand to sample our world-class national opera company.
"New Zealand Post is a committed supporter of the community and of our country's dynamic arts sector. Partnering with The NBR New Zealand Opera allows us to combine the two and take the opera experience to the communities we have been a part of for over 160 years.
"We believe opera has a big future in this country and we are proud to be supporting the growth and development of this captivating art form."
Alex Reedijk, General Director of The NBR New Zealand Opera applauded New Zealand Post's commitment to the arts.
"This second national opera tour is a tremendous occasion for two icon New Zealand companies to join forces in delivering live performing arts to more New Zealanders across the regions," he said. "We are very proud of our recent return to national touring which last year saw us perform to over 17,000 people with the very successful Barber tour. We are pleased to be back on the road this year thanks to New Zealand Post, and welcome them on board as a true "Arts Partner"."
Cosi Fan Tutte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is a story of true love, temptation and seduction. The tour opens in Rotorua on 16 June and finishes in Hastings on 10 August.
