Gordon Ramsey at The Auckland Cooking Academy
An exclusive opportunity to meet one of the worlds most colourful culinary personalities will be held on Wednesday 12th
May at The Auckland Cooking Academy, Millys Kitchen Warehouse in Parnell.
The man who made a name for himself as one of Britains finest chefs and television personalities will be visiting New
Zealand to judge the semi finals and finals of the NZ Gordon Ramsay Scholar Competition. Gordon Ramsey began the UK
Gordon Ramsay Scholar Competition in 2001 with the overall winner receiving sponsored prizes, and work experience in
renowned kitchens around the world.
The first winner was a young 20-year-old chef, Gemma Blow from The Square in London. Gemma won herself two exciting
stages; one in Chicago at the renowned restaurant of Charlie Trotter; and the other at the famous Raffles Hotel in
Singapore. Her win has put her feet firmly on the path to becoming a top chef.
All the winners acknowledge that winning the prestigious Gordon Ramsay Scholarship "opened a lot of doors" for them. New
Zealand is the first country outside the United Kingdom to take part in this Competition. Gordon is visiting New Zealand
in may for the final judging of his scholarship programme, which offers an exclusive opportunity to encourage and
recognise New Zealand's promising young chefs who are already working in the industry.
"I am looking for talented young chefs who can demonstrate dedication and determination to succeed at the very highest
levels" Gordon Ramsay says.
Cocktails with Gordon Ramsey at The Auckland Cooking Academy is an exclusive opportunity to meet and have a glass with
Gordon and hear about his scholarship programmes and his culinary adventures. Gordon will also be happy to personally
sign copies of his books during the evening.
