Cats back down the bottom, Blues need more to be a threat in Super 12 ratings
After round right, the Cats have returned to the bottom spot in the Massey Super 12 rugby ratings.
However the Johannesburg-based side have upped their home advantage significantly, though still some way from top home performers the Brumbies.
The Stormers returned to the bottom of the home performers list, though their rating is not far from top.
The Crusaders still have not shaken off their lowly home advantage, thought they are the top rated team at the moment.
The Blues made a significant positive net gain, but need more to be a threat. The Chiefs dropped on both counts, down a net 12.8 on combination.
The weekly Super 12 results are analysed for the ratings by Massey University Professor Hugh Morton using a computerised adjustive rating system, similar to the PriceWaterhouseCooper rankings for cricket.
Over the whole competition a lowly rating can be offset by a high home advantage.
In the last four Super 12 seasons the three highest average ratings have been Brumbies 28.6, Blues 26.7 and Crusaders 25.2, while the three lowest averages have been Cats 7.4, Bulls 8.6 and Sharks 13.4. Latest Massey Super 12 ratings:
