Hi there,
Here is the latest in Arch Hill pre-winter touring, recording and other action...
Dappled Cities Fly NZ Tour Our trans-Tasman buddies are barreling up and down the country in a cozy Corolla playing with a handful of excellent bands, some of them on Arch Hill and others who are just good friends who make great music.
The tour starts tonight in Wellington at Indigo with the Phoenix Foundation and Jeremy Taylor. As you can see Dappled Cities Fly will be enjoying a fair bit of the countryside - so if you bump into them on the road or at the pub I'm sure they'd appreciate some local hospitality and/or a beer.

Arch Hill Recordings released the seven track EP Wimbo park in NZ last month and they have been described in Rolling Stone magazine as "Between Augie March's wordy, atmospheric art-lit leanings, and Pavement's scattered, divined pop style." Ghostplane The Ghostplane EP the Panther Valley Country Club has been receiving excellent reviews, some of which I've attached at the bottom of this email. If you missed their Auckland and Wellington gigs last month, (or you don't live in Auckland or Wellington), then look out for them touring more extensively in May.
Upcoming Recordings Pine, Fang and Red Drum have all been keeping the Arch Hill studios busy, noisy and sleepless as of late. They will have singles/albums/videos or all three ready for blazing fireside listening action this winter. Hold on to your couch.
Luv from Arch Hill
if you don't wanna get occasional (about monthly) arch hill emails please let us know and we'll take you off pronto
Some people are saying nice things about Ghostplane....
"Bent but engrossing melodies and gentle suprises from an op-shop collection of instruments" - Graham Reid (NZ Herald) (4 stars)
"Great textural touches throughout with a strength of songwriting and style which makes this a highly satisfying debut release...and a bloody good one at that." - Groove Guide
"Ghostplane ooze style from every pore...Panther Valley Country Club takes listeners on an ethereal ride that ebbs and flows like the Wellington wind it was recorded in. The only downer is there are just seven tracks." - Rip It Up (4 stars)
"Other worldly, open ended... irresistibly hooky and imaginatively warped. An exciting local debut" - Nick Bollinger (National Radio)
"Panther Valley Country Club is a seven song masterpiece of alt.guitar pop/rock with enough twang and indie idiosyncrasy to charm any jaded critic ('It all goes Wrong' gets my vote for song of the year)." - Brent Cardy (Real Groove)
"Ghostplane etch their presence into the recorded NZ music scene with this impressive debut." - The Package
