Joseph Haydn was one of the great revolutionaries of classical music. Born in the Baroque era, his advances in structure melody and harmony anticipated the stormy creations of Beethoven. His music shows depth of feeling, drama, elegance and wit and his vast output rewards the listener with many delights and surprises along the way.
