Opening night for The Fridge
WelTec’s Fridge Gallery will open its doors on Friday to the wonder of Chilean art.
“House of Cards”, the work of contemporary Chilean artist Paz Carvajal, will be the opening exhibition for 2004. Paz uses the imagery of a pack of cards, taken from within the Alice in Wonderland story, to illustrate our fragility in the last corner of the world. She has flown from Chile to install the exhibition and be at the opening.
Paz and her husband will be joined at the opening by the Chilean ambassador to New Zealand, Carlos Appelgren, and members of the Chilean community.
The exhibition opens on Friday March 5th at 5.30 pm, at
