INTERVENTIONS
city reclamation public art project
01/03/2004 - 14/03/2004
Interventions is an open platform public art project designed to create discourse within the city through a series of calculated art manoeuvres.
Interventions takes place in Wellington city from the 1st to the 14th of March, 2004.
The project will feature freely viewable public artworks made by participating artists. Posters and flyer-sized maps will be distributed around the city to advertise the locations of individual works.
Participants will make artwork(s) of their choice at sites of their choice, somewhere in the central city area. Artworks may be of any nature, in any medium. Each site, along with artists' names and the dates/times of each work, will be located on the map of the central city, displayed on the posters.
500 posters will be distributed throughout the city prior to and during the project by participants and contracted workers.
A website will publicise the project online.
The number of those involved is expanding daily. We have no idea how many artists or artworks will feature in the final project.
All work is publicly viewable, free of charge.
INTERVENTIONS: Wellington city, 1-14 March 2004.
