Volare and Ruia to Perform Free in Cathedral Square

Volare and Ruia to Perform Free in Cathedral Square for Valentines Day Friday Lunchtime Concert. Friday 13th February, Volare 12.15pm to 1.45pm, Ruia 4.00pm to 5.00pm, Cathedral Square.
This Friday the smooth harmonies and cool jazz of trio Volare will liven up Cathedral Square, and later in the afternoon Ruia Aperahama and his backing vocalist group Hakiwa will perform.
Vivienne Merito, Erina Henare Aperahama and Stephanie Pohe make up Hakiwa, and together with Ruia, they specialise in performing songs in Maori. Strongly influenced by Bob Marley, Ruia Aperahama has recorded two CD's and this concert launches his new CD entitled Hawaiki. Ruia is most well known for his composition 'What's The Time Mr Wolf?'. Recorded by Herbs, this song had a strong presence on the soundtrack to the movie ' Once Were Warriors'.
Songstress trio Volare will perform romantic jazz standards with beautiful harmonies from 12.15pm to 1.45pm, just in time for Valentines Day, and later in the afternoon, Ruia and Hakiwa will perform from 4.00pm to 5.00pm in Cathedral Square.
