The Platinum Connection takes a fresh look at the minefield of relationships in the context of the exciting world of advanced communication. Theatre, dance and voice culminate in an explosive exploration of Love through e-mail forwards, internet marriages and txt dating. The Platinum Connection examines the new landscape of connection in the communication age.
Dramaturg Mick Rose has worked extensively in theatre and Film in New Zealand for more than a decade. Mick has extensive experience in writing and devising work. He has been involved in over 30 script development workshops for theatre and film texts and has worked as a script editor.
Choreographer/Performer Sacha Copland graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance in 2002. During her time there she performed the work of Shona McCullogh,Neil Ieremia and Leigh Warren. Since graduating Sacha has produced, choreographed and danced in the sell-out season of ‘Espresso’ as part of the ‘Dance Your Socks Off Festival’.
Actor Simon Vincent has been working in Theatre since he graduated from Toi Whakaari:NZ Drama School in 2000. In 2001 he devised a Physical Theatre show with Tom McCrory called Faultline based around Earthquakes. Most recently Simon has appeared in ‘Speed-the-Plow’, ‘Private Lives’ and ‘a Passionate Woman’ for which he won the Chapman Tripp award for ‘Most promising Male Newcomer’.
