Ansell Big Gay Out
New Zealand’s largest gay and lesbian event
featuring a “mass relationship commitment ceremony”
This year’s Ansell Big Gay Out will be held at Coyle Park, Point Chevalier on Sunday, 08 February 2004 from 12noon –
7pm. In its fourth year, the Ansell Big Gay Out is the highest patronised family fun day event orientated towards the
heterosexual, gay and lesbian communities.
The Ansell Big Gay Out will be hosted by the New Zealand AIDS Foundation - a registered charitable organisation which
devotes its energies to preventing the transmission of HIV and maximising the health of people living with HIV/AIDS.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the health and the value of our gay and lesbian communities and a
great way to enjoy the day with our extended whanau/families” states NZAF Executive Director Rachael Le Mesurier.
New features of this year’s event include the HIV/AIDS Memorial Service @ 12noon, 2003 Auckland Queer Quest Finalists,
Ansell lube slide competition and, the Mass Commitment Ceremony @ 5.30pm followed by the very versatile and popular band
Pulse.
The Ansell Main stage will feature the ever popular dog competitions, kids time with Buffy and Bimbo, toss the handbag
and tug of war competitions, drag queens and non stop entertainment.
