Motocross Champion Appears at Parachute
Top female motocross rider Mary Perkins will be spinning her wheels at Parachute this weekend, on Sunday, 26th January, while in the evening, DJ Phat B, of Impact World Tour's GX International team, will be spinning his decks on the mainstage between headline acts.
Mary Perkins is heading up Impact World Tour's motocross team, FMX. They will be performing their breathtaking jumps and stunts in front of thousands of fans at the famous New Zealand music festival.
DJ Phat B, also known as Jacco Zutphen from Holland, will then capture the attention of all Parachute music lovers at the mainstage, as he mixes up a top blend of tunes between headline acts at 6.45-7.00pm.
Mary, FMX and DJ Phat B are participants in Impact World Tour’s action-packed free shows, performing alongside GX International – a group of top skaters, bikers, breakdancers, in-line skaters and hip-hop dancers. The FMX team's first IWT performance will be on January 31st at Cooks Garden Stadium, Wanganui at 8pm and then at all major IWT venues throughout New Zealand.
“Impact World Tour is a great opportunity," says, Mary. "We have five riders who will be here, two New Zealanders and three from Australia."
Also performing throughout New Zealand are Impact World Tour’s other teams including Team Xtreme, who will blow crowds away with their amazing feats of strength and athletic prowess. Bending steel bars between their teeth, blowing up hot water bottles, and shattering stacks of concrete bricks with their heads are just a few of the thrilling displays that audiences can expect to see.
Island Breeze will captivate audiences as they showcase the cultures of the Pacific in a presentation the whole family can enjoy, including Pacific Island Dance, stunning costumes as well as some spectacular fireknife dancing.
Thousands are expected to attend the Impact World Tour events, which are part of a nationwide tour spanning over 50 cities and towns throughout New Zealand from January to April 2004. GX International, TX International and Island Breeze are currently in Gisborne, performing the first shows of the tour on 22nd, 23rd and 24th January.
IWT has already visited countries throughout the world but New Zealand is hosting the most comprehensive tour to date.
