The summer line up at the PBC Dome Room.
Beginning this Saturday evening, the sexy, jazz- infused house sound of Auckland DJ’s GAVIN MCRAE & MIKEY WALDEN launches the PBC Dome Room summer line-up with the FORMALITY PARTY. Straight after New Year, on Saturday the 3rd, celebrate with the rhythmic sound of eight-piece world music band GAHU, whose original jazz tunes meet the drum and bass of Africa. In town on the 17th, PAUL UBANA JONES, a Gisborne favourite, will play at the Dome as part of his national tour. To complete the line-up six-piece soul band JEROME HENDRIX & Co. will perform here February 7th. Jerome & Co. have just opened for Neil & Tim Finn’s new venue in Auckland and will bring their big soul sound to Gisborne for one night only.

DJ Gavin McRae & DJ Mikey Walden
DJ Gavin McRae and DJ Mike Walden, two of Auckland’s best known house DJ’s, describe their style as sexy, funky, jazz-influenced house. Both are regulars at Auckland’s Wyndham Bowling Club and have a show on George FM.
Gahu
Rhythm n’ Jazz of Aotearoa.
The rhythmic, infectious energy of GAHU is a unique rhythm based approach to Jazz and World Music. They play original jazz tunes with an African influence based around the irresistible call of traditional Ghana dance rhythms and exciting improvisation with modern and traditional instruments.
World Music at its best. GAHU have just completed their debut album recorded at the University of Auckland and mixed at Revolver Studio. It will be released in February next year.
Performance highlights of 2003 so far have been - Live to air - Bfm - NZ Music week. Released as an EP ³Live at Bfm². Bay of Islands Jazz & Blues Festival, K¹Road Karnival, Whangarei Jazz & Blues Festival, Auckland Festival, Grey Lynn Festival, Jazz on Ponsonby.

Paul Ubana Jones
1997 saw the release of his 4th album on Pagan called "Blessings and Burdens" recorded at Airforce with Chris Van de Geer which this year won the Folk Album of The Year at the Recording Industry Music Awards. Paul has toured Australia twice this year as well as doing two national NZ tours. He is currently playing in France and Switzerland to fantastic response, and will be back in NZ for another national tour... Paul Ubana Jones has toured with Ben Harper, Tracey Chapman, Crowded House and Taj Mahal.
Jerome Hendrix & Co.
Jerome Hendrix and his band opened for famous acts in the sixties The Turtles, Jimi Hendrix, Buffalo Springfield, Jefferson Airplane, The Hollies, Percy Sledge, Taj Mahal & many more. From a gospel background in San Francisco, Jerome a classically trained pianist recorded his first song with A Records at the age of 17. In 1980 he moved to New Zealand to raise his new family and since then he has had numerous television guest appearances, several commercials including the award winning Coruba Rum commercial, co-starred in Porgy & Bess. He joined the Roger Fox Big Band Orchestra as vocalist and performed the Frank Sinatra tribute at Sky City. Jerome has also opened for many international acts here including soul diva Randy Crawford. He recently opened a private gig for Tim & Neil Finn.
