Mackenzie Centre an "Inspiring Summer Series"

Mackenzie Heritage Centre initiates an “Inspiring Summer Series”
The stories of the Mackenzie are coming to life over the summer.
Starting on 4 January, the “Inspiring Summer Series”, sponsored by the Mackenzie Centre Community Trust, will bring a wealth of inspirational speakers to Lake Tekapo.
The stories will cover, the Mackenzie environment, the people, the innovation and the places they have travelled. Stories include, “Te Pö – the Night Sky, Designing for the Interactive Traveller, Power and Passion, and Shaken and Stirred – Landforms of the Mackenzie”.
Guest presenters include Sir Tipene O’Regan (Ngai Tahu), Alan Seay (Meridian Energy), Andrew Caughey (Merino New Zealand), Gottlieb Braun-Elwert (Alpine Recreation), and David Barrell (Geological and Nuclear Sciences).
The Inspiring Summer Series, begins on Sunday 4 January and runs every Sunday evening until early March.
Mackenzie Heritage Centre Project Director Malcolm Anderson says: “The Inspiring Summer Series seeks to present the stories behind the ‘real’ New Zealand. The presenter’s support for the series demonstrates an understanding, passion and vision that typifies the Heritage Centre project.”
Chairman of the Mackenzie Centre Community Trust, Richard Stubbs, adds: “The Trust’s sponsorship of the Inspiring Summer Series emphasises our commitment to the Lake Tekapo community. We know the calibre of speakers will both attract visitors to Lake Tekapo and add real value to their visit.”

The Mackenzie Heritage Centre is a proposed $16.5 million dollar interactive experience revolving around seven compelling stories from the Mackenzie Country. The Heritage Centre will feature state of the art interpretive experiences that tell the stories of the place, the people, and the passion behind an area that 1.3 million visitors pass through every year.
