4th Pacific Summer for Christchurch
From January 30 – February 5, 2004, Christchurch will witness the 4th annual Christchurch celebration of Pacific art, called “FA – Pacific Arts”.
Features include, 2 comedy shows - the hilarious Naked Samoans with their newest show GO HOME, and “Laughing With Samoans” starring Wellington comedians, Eteuati Ete and Tofiga Fepulea’i.
Currently placed at number 4 on the pop charts, with their song “A Life Without You” ADEAZE will make their debut appearance at the popular Family Day alongside Sunga from Melbourne with their island soul and jazz style and local performers Pacific Underground, Tribalincs and F.U.S.A.
At the Fia Fia Night, ‘Return To Paradise’ return with their island dance, while Pacific Gospel can be heard as well as poetry by Tusiata Avia who performed alongside LOTR hero and artist Viggo Mortenson in Wellington last weekend.
“Paper Flowers” a multi-media piece by Siaosi Mulipola will be performed at the Great Hall, Pacific Underground shows “Alisa” and “Island Summer” will be performed at the Arts Centre and the Canterbury Museum and the Christchurch Art Gallery host a series of lunchtime concerts that will feature local bands and culture groups.
