Flying Fiver Update Tuesday 9 December
Major Interest and Christmas Rush Pushes Entry Deadline Out
Flying Fives Short Film Competition organisers have registered a rush of activity from filmmakers wanting to enter the competition as interest in the Lord of the Rings: Return of the King increases.
In response to activity and production, plus many requests to extend the deadline due to the current deadline falling in the midst of the Christmas rush, the organisers have agreed to extend the entry deadline to Friday 30 January.
"This will mean nothing gets lost in the post and creative energies don’t lose their fever in the Christmas rush," said Flying Fives spokesperson John Bullock.
" This is year one of the Flying Fives, which launched in September, that plus problems with the Christmas rush made a good case to extend the entry deadline into the New Year.
"Also it seems as the interest in the new Lord of the Rings: Return of the King heightens, film makers have become inspired to get their projects produced which is brilliant.
"Interest in the Flying Fives has been strong, with entries received as far a field as Chicago.”
