Red Bull® Flugtag
Fasten your seatbelts! The second Red Bull Flugtag is about to take off. Departing from Wellington Waterfront on 14th March 2004, at 12 noon.
Before flight crew can master the skies, they will need to prove they are a real inventor and can construct an original and creative flying machine never dreamt up by anyone before.
The demands Ground Control make of our bold pilots and crazy flying machines are not as strict as those of commercial airlines, but interested crew do need to study the rules of the event by visiting our website www.redbullflugtag.co.nz or call 0800GETHIGH.
Applications close 12 December 2003 and successful inventors will be notified by 22 December 2003. They will then spent the next two months constructing their flying machines for the aviation event of the century.
The second Red Bull Flugtag will take place on Wellington’s Waterfront off Taranaki Wharf on Sunday 14th March, 2004. This is the first time a major Red Bull event has been held outside of Auckland.
Wellington is a city that embraces innovation and creativity and the Red Bull Flugtag is a perfect example of this. Spectators can expect a mix of the inventive and the pure zany doing battle against the backdrop of the Capital’s stunning harbour.
Wellington Mayor Kerry Prendergast says she is thrilled Red Bull has chosen Wellington for this great event.
“Wellington is New Zealand’s events capital. We constantly stage high quality, creative events that Wellingtonians enthusiastically support. The Red Bull Flugtag won't be any different.
“We can also guarantee visitors to the Capital for the event an enjoyable, memorable time.
“I look forward to welcoming all the participants and supporters of the Red Bull Flugtag to Wellington,” says Mayor Prendergast.
