Putting the Wellington in fashion week

While Wellington isn’t playing host to L’Oreal New Zealand fashion week- this year, you can rest assured Wellington’s
distinctive and burgeoning fashion scene will be well represented on the catwalk.
Recognising the growing export potential of the fashion industry Positively Wellington Business is proud to be
supporting up and coming designer Angeline Harrington, the only Wellington designer profiled in this years main show.
Harrington whose label is already stocked in five major centres describes her range as feminine and original, a move
away from soulless clothing and culture, each piece telling its own story, much like a hand painted book, or a slow food
meal.
While this may be her first official showing at fashion week, Angeline is no stranger when it comes to the world of
fashion, a graduate of the Wellington School of Fashion Design in 1996, Angeline has since worked for well known labels
World and Zambesi, was a finalist in the 2002 Deutz Fashion Ambassador award and a participant in last year's Ponsonby
Fringe Festival.
Positively Wellington Business’s CEO Blair McRae is delighted to see Wellington fashion recognised at the
internationally acclaimed event and says events such as this are crucial to cementing Wellington’s identity as a
creative centre, pushing the boundaries that define business.

really has developed an unique ‘Wellington style’, an identifiable look that will allow our designers a more credible
standing in the export market”
Representatives of Positively Wellington Business’s Fashion Incubator Fashion HQ will also be among the fashionistas
attending the event, including incubatee Leiana Rei Perawiti who’s resort wear will be featured in the Westfield Style
Pasifika Show. Fashion HQ and its retail outlet are to be officially launched on 11th November as part of a creative
showcase in Cuba Mall’s Left Bank.
Positively Wellington Business

Fashion HQ
Fashion HQ is a business incubator that operates as part of the Creative HQ incubator. It offers promising fashion
designers the opportunity to work in a fully established premise, receive mentoring and advice and also, by way of the
incubator retail outlet, sell their garments direct to the public.
