KIWIS CELEBRATING 100 LEAGUE TESTS AGAINST ARCH RIVALS AUSTRALIAN KANGAROOS
Fire, Pride and Passion Centenary Dinner
League greats Artie Beetson, Graham Lowe and the entire Kiwi league team and management will come together for the official NZRL dinner to celebrate 100 league tests between the Kiwis and the Australian Kangaroos on the 13th of October, 6.30pm at the North Harbour Stadium.
It’s 99 times that the Kiwis and our arch rivals the Australian Kangaroos have squared up (unfortunately the ledger is very much in Australia’s favour - New Zealand has had 25 wins and 1 draw). The 100th test will be played five days after the dinner on the 18th of October.
Guests will enjoy a programme packed with first-class entertainment from legendary guest speakers Artie Beetson and Graham Lowe.
Beetson has a well-deserved reputation as a bruising defender with the determination and ability to absorb any form of punishment.
Lowe is recognised as one of the most gruelling yet successful coaches ever to walk the face of the earth. His impressive career has taken him around the world coaching Wigan in the UK, Manly and North Queensland in Australia, Western Samoa and the Kiwis to name but a few. He will be in the record books forever as the first non-Australian to coach a State of Origin team (Queensland) –what’s more, they won!
Master of Ceremonies for the evening is the 1998 World Champion of Public Speaking Brett Rutledge. Brett’s entertaining nature is guaranteed to have you in hysterics and the Kangaroos squirming.
The evening includes a gourmet three-course dinner and drinks.
All funds raised on the evening will go to Kidz First.
This event is supported by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, New Zealand Rugby League, and the North Harbour Stadium.
Tickets to the evening are $155.75 Chamber members/$175.00 each or $1557.50 Chamber members/$1750.00 for a table for 10. To secure tickets phone 09 309 6100 or email events@chamber.co.nz.
