Polyphony Entertainment Company & Poly Fonk Productions are proud to present New Zealand’s most successful multi-award winning R & B band, ARDIJAH. Playing one night only in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney .,
ARDIJAH’s founders, Betty-Anne & Ryan Monga will perform with their accomplished 7-piece band on this whirlwind mini-tour of Australia, prior to the imminent release of their eagerly awaited fourth album in 2004.
In 2000 Betty-Anne received a coveted Tui Award (NZ’s ARIAS) for ‘Best Female Vocalist’ and ARDIJAH had nominations in ‘Best Group’ and ‘Top Single’. ARDIJAH were also nominees in 2001 for Album of the year, Producer of the Year, Female Vocalist and Best Group.
Internationally acclaimed for their distinctive ‘POLY FONK’ sound, they have captured the interest of such luminaries as Quincy Jones, The Bee Gees*, and engagements with international artists such as Bobby Brown, Mick Jagger, UB40, James Blundell, Mark Williams, Jenny Morris and Margaret Urlich. (*The Bee Gees met with Betty-Anne and Ryan in 1999 after the release of ARDIJAH’S solid gold cover version of Bee Gees classic LOVE SO RIGHT).
ARDIJAH has achieved platinum sales for their albums TAKE A CHANCE and TIME as well as hitting #1 with their single of the Paul McCartney penned ‘Silly Love Songs’. Betty-Anne and Ryan (also a talented arranger and producer), after 14 years in the business still produce fresh innovative sounds. POLYFONK is a funky fusion of sounds, blending Polynesian roots, rhythms and melodies with inspired R & B grooves – the fonk is the funk you feel!
