Vero announces renewed support for Auckland Philharmonia
Vero, New Zealand’s newest name in insurance, is proving it also values tradition through its continued support for the
Auckland Philharmonia.
At the commencement of tonight’s final concert of the Royal & SunAlliance 2003 Series, it will be announced that Vero will be continuing the sponsorship relationship with the
Auckland Philharmonia, begun by Royal & SunAlliance nine years ago.
September has been a busy month for Vero, beginning with the launch of its new name followed by news that it has been
judged Insurer of the Year for the second consecutive time.
Vero Chief Executive Roger Bell says “I’m proud Vero will be the new name behind the Auckland Philharmonia. It
demonstrates that while the Royal & SunAlliance name has changed, it’s still business as usual at Vero. We take immense pleasure in joining the Auckland
Philharmonia in providing a programme of entertaining, innovative and challenging works.”
The Vero Premier Series is New Zealand’s largest concert series and will include 15 works performed by the Auckland
Philharmonia at the Town Hall and Aotea Centre.
The Vero Premier Series soloists include; Angela Brown, Michael Christie, Nikolai Demidenko, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Shlomo
Mintz, Piers Lane, Manuel Barrueco, Yuri Bashmet and Emmanuel Plasson.
Auckland Philharmonia General Manager Anne Rodda says “We are thrilled to present the Vero Premier Series for 2004. We
work very closely with our audiences to strike a balance between what they want to hear and what will stretch the
orchestra artistically. With Vero’s continued support we have gained the confidence to plan for the future and secure
major artists two to three years out.”
