NZ SAILOR WINS GOLD AT CORK YOUTH FESTIVAL
Jane Macky has won gold in the Laser Radial Youth class at the Cork/Osa Youth Festival in Canada. The talented 16 year old from Kohimarama Sailing Club was selected to represent New Zealand in the sailing festival earlier this year, and received funding from St John's Rotary Trust to pay for the trip.
Yachting New Zealand's Chief Executive, Simon Wickham comments, "The funding received from St John's Rotary Trust ensures that we are able to send a sailor away to this event each year providing them with an opportunity to benchmark themselves against other international sailors in much larger fleets than we traditionally get at New Zealand regattas. The fact that Jane has achieved such a great result bodes well for her future in yachting."
Jane is now competing.
