Pirates Threaten Waikato
Avast ye scurvy lubbers! Beware a bellicose band of buccaneers is about to invade the region, masquerading as harmonious singers. The cacophonous cutthroats are said to be planning a raid on the New Zealand Barbershop Convention in Hamilton this weekend (15-17 August).
Melodious marauders - the New York quartetReveille will feature in this weekend's harmony singers convention in Hamilton.
Known as Reveille, this New York quartet will sit in judgement on the New Zealand barbershop chorus and quartet championships, and shake their booty at a public concert in the Founders Theatre on Saturday night.
Judged to be one of America’s most entertaining quartets, Reveille portray themselves as ferocious but misunderstood seadogs, with parodies like _Bye Bye Blackbeard_.
Harold Henderson, President of the host chorus Mighty River Harmony, says that New Zealand is fortunate to secure such a talented group to take part in the Convention, which starts on Friday (15th).
