With three days of racing now complete and a total of seven races sailed at the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship in Madeira, things are shaping up well for the New Zealanders at the mid-point of the regatta.
Three crews out of the team of eight are now in the top three of their fleets, with one of the two possible discards being granted, allowing all sailors to cancel out their least favourable placing.
Laser Radial sailor Jo Aleh has moved up the rankings from 5th place to 1st, after discarding the 15th placing she obtained on day two. Similarly Scott Kennedy and Alastair Thompson, moved up the leaderboard two places in the 420 fleet where they currently hold 3rd place.
