London Calling - An Interactive Film
Paramount Theatre, 14-17 July 2003
Ever wanted to direct a short film? Now’s your chance.
Every day during the Fringe Film Festival, a team of NZ filmmakers in London, will produce scenes of a short film, directed by NZ audience votes.
The story begins with a Kiwi arriving in London on his big O.E. Fresh off the plane our young hero steps out, the world at his antipodean feet.
Who? Why? What? How? When? ……… YOU DECIDE
After watching the first episode on the Paramount screen, the audience will direct the next scenes of the film from kiosks. Locations, characters and dialogue are all under voter control. The film and voting will also be available online at http://www.fringefilmfest.co.nz for audiences across the world.
Once tallied, the votes will be sent to the production team in London, who will shoot, edit and digitally deliver the next episode in time for screening at the festival the following day.
The story will unfold according to voter choice, building to a hilarious climax in the final episode.
London Calling is world first, uniquely combining art and technology to create some truly hilarious entertainment. Produced by the award-winning creators of cult classic 5 Minute Call (winners of the Supreme Creativity Award 2002).
Produced with support from Wellington City Council Creative Communities Grant.
