Cat Lovers Of New Zealand Come To Wellington!
2003 WHISKAS National Cat Show takes place this weekend
Wellington, 27 May – Wellington is preparing itself for a feline invasion this coming Queen’s Birthday weekend as cats and their owners from all over New Zealand unite for the 2003 WHISKAS National Cat Show.
Taking place at the Indian Cultural Centre in Kilbirnie, the two-day WHISKAS National Cat Show will put the spotlight on cats of all sorts, shapes and sizes. As many as 460 entries have been received including a large local contingent and more than 8,000 people are expected to visit the show over the two days.
The event continues to be the number one feline show of its kind in the country, bringing with it strong local and national media interest. The field of judges has been picked from across the globe including the United States, Israel, South Africa and France. The WHISKAS National Cat Show regularly includes a wide variety of rare breeds and pedigrees as well as domestic moggies and kittens.
WHISKAS Spokesperson Janine Chamley says with only three days until the event kicks off, many cat owners will be eagerly anticipating the big day. “The popularity of the WHISKAS National Cat Show means a large number of entrants across all 28 categories. The standards to which the cats are shown and presented is truly amazing and the cats just seem to take it all in the stride!” she says.
“We at WHISKAS are delighted to support an event such as this – it is an outstanding example of responsible pet owners placing great care and attention on their cats, which is also at the heart of our business,” says Ms Chamley.
