Made In New Zealand As part of their contribution to New Zealand Music Month, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra
presents a concert of essential orchestral works by New Zealand composers. On Wednesday 28 May in the Wellington Town
Hall you will hear both old and new music related to the New Zealand outdoors, including two recent works by Gareth
Farr, alongside music by Douglas Lilburn, David Hamilton, Ross Harris and conductor Kenneth Young. Don't miss your
chance to hear these monuments of New Zealand music, including realistic percussion earthquakes, and a personal message
from Sir Edmund Hillary!
Topp Twins Book Launch Jools and Linda Topp's unique blend of music and humour has become a cultural institution, and
they're currently in the middle of a South Island tour, celebrating the launch of their new book. Last night the Topp
Twins' performance closed the Wordstruck! Book Festival in Dunedin. The tour continues: Wednesday 28 May in
Invercargill; Friday 30 + Saturday 31 May in Christchurch (part of the Books & Beyond Festival) Wednesday 4 June in Blenheim; Thursday 5 June in Nelson Check artscalendar.co.nz for more details.
We've had some criticism lately that we don't feature enough South Island arts events on artscalendar.co.nz... and we
totally agree. Our problem is that we're only as good as the information we receive. Don't be shy to post your events to
the website, and make sure you let everyone in your town know that this promotional tool exists for them. It's your

For Good Young journalist Lisa Pearce is haunted by the abduction and murder of her childhood companion. The killer is
now up for parole and when Lisa confronts him she sparks a devastating chain of events, leaving her own life hanging in
the balance! Don't miss For Good, the debut feature film created by Wellington's MAP Film productions, receiving its
world premiere at the 32nd New Zealand Film Festival in Wellington during July. The film then tours the country with
festival seasons in Auckland, Dunedin, Christchurch, Hamilton, Napier, Tauranga, Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Nelson
and Queenstown - all before a general release within the year! For Good is written and directed by Stuart McKenzie,
stars Michelle Langstone, Adam Gardiner, Tim Balme, and Miranda Harcourt, and, in the spirit of New Zealand Music Month,
features a soundtrack by Shayne Carter.
