If you want to see some great, unique acoustic performances come long to this great lineup of musicians this special NZ Music Month event.
Victoria Girling-Butcher has been writing, performing and recording music throughout New Zealand for the last six years. After completing a diploma at the School of Music in Nelson she concentrated on performances in Dunedin and Wellington before moving to Auckland. Although she had classical voice training, her song-writing experience has lead her to develop her own unique singing style. If her guitar playing is unconventional it's largely because she's self-taught and enjoys experimenting with alternative tunings.
Victoria's also interested in unconventional ( there's that word again) use of language. Not many people "run down the keys in denim jeans " !
At varsity she was drawn to studies in English, Literature and Anthropology which all makes perfect sense given that she describes herself above all as an avid people-watcher and question-asker. More at www.lucid3.com
