Surfco Monthly - May
Welcome to the winter edition of our monthly ezine. It is getting a lot cooler and real quick. The water has dropped in temperature and it's time to dust off the winter wettie. If you need a new one, boy are you in luck . Say bye to summer, and get the ultimate wetsuit at factory clearance prices. The guys at Hybrid need to make way for the next season so are literally clearing out what's left.
You'll normally pay up to $459 at retail for a Hybrid Steamer, and you can pay as much as $800 for other wetsuits of this calibre. Basically, you're going to kick yourself if you don't jump at this one time only chance... Hybrid Steamer: only $299 (incl gst). So check out Hybrid Wetsuits below and get yours for winter.
Talking of winter, even though it is colder, I still like the idea of less people in the water and winter swells. You know, those deep southern ocean swells pushing up the West Coast and then up the East Coast, as the beast of a low moves further to the east... Sounds good doesn't it!

Lyall Bay Reef
REEF PROJECT ACHIEVES ANOTHER MILESTONE WITH DONATION FROM WELLINGTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT...
Surfing at Lyall Bay is one important step closer to a major improvement now that the Resource Consent application to build an artificial reef has been advertised. The reef proposal has been coordinated by the Lyall Bay Reef Trust in collaboration with the Wellington City Council. A generous donation from the Wellington International Airport Limited bridged a funding gap for the Trust and enabled the completion of the resource consent application.

Bali Bombing Trial
This week, the first trial of a key suspect in the October 12 Bali bombing began. The bomb blast in Kuta killed more than 180 people and left many more injured.
An Indonesian court began the trial on Monday. Amrozi bin Nurhasyim, 40, is facing four charges under the country's untested anti-terrorism legislation for helping to plan and carry out the attack on October 12 last year, seven months ago.
Amrozi is among several key suspects, although police have accused others of playing more important roles in the attacks. Police have accused him of buying explosive materials and a minivan that was later turned into a massive bomb.
We hope that these trials will allow families of the victims to move beyond this tragedy.
