Possum Bourne update - Sunday
New Zealand's top rally driver Possum Bourne today remains in a serious but stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit of Dunedin Hospital, New Zealand, following a traffic accident on Friday.
As part of the ongoing treatment of his head injuries he remains in a medically induced coma.
This treatment will not change in the short term.
Family and friends spent the night at his beside and remain with him today.
Possum's wife Peggy says the level of support from New Zealand and indeed around the world has been phenomenal and has buoyed the family.
"To all of Possum's fans and the well-wishers, a big thank you. It's a very difficult time for us all but the support makes the difference.
"I also want to express our ongoing gratitude for the fantastic work that all the staff at Dunedin Hospital are doing for Possum."
Messages can be left at the website http://www.possumpwrc.co.nz on the message board, or faxed to New Zealand 09 238 5737.
